Bar Six Charolais Bull Information
Bar 6 Charolais has been raising Charolais cattle with the commercial cattle producer in mind since 1990. Our bulls are raised here on native forages at the ranch until they are sent to feedlot to prepare for sale. We do not sell any bulls off the ranch before the bull sale each year.
Our first Charolais cows were purchased from DeBruycker Charolais in Montana. We have since then bred the herd to fit the conditions where they live, using mostly in herd sired bulls. We look for balanced EPD’s and moderate frame and birth weights when purchasing outcross herd bulls.
The cattle we produce are moderate framed with a high volume.
We strive to produce bulls that perform in rugged range conditions and who sire calves that excel in the feed lot and on the rail.
These genetics have proven themselves on commercial ranches through out the west in the most severe conditions. We sell about one hundred Charolais bulls each year through our production sale in The Cowman's Kind Bull & Horse Sale” in Madras Oregon at Green Spot Arena.
This year we are offering 59 Charolais fall yearling and 10 2 year old Charolais bulls in the sale.
We do not breed papers or numbers, just highly efficient cattle!!

Our objective is to produce effecient functional cattle that will excell in natural range conditions. Our cattle are continually tested by the enviroment in which they are raised with minimal human intervention. Cows calve unassisted on thousands of acres in the high desert of Eastern oregon. We have ranged from the Steens Mountains to the Painted hills near Mitchell Oregon in extremely rugged terrain. This allows us to produce hardy, self sufficient, trouble free bulls for our costumers
